Over the years we have been conditioned to think that keeping our pets healthy consists largely of “getting their shots”.

While we firmly believe in the life-saving value of vaccinations, this is only a small part of what our Total Wellness for Life Plans can do to keep your pet healthy and happy.

Our Packages

We like to break Wellness down into three parts:

First, we want to prevent as many things as possible.

This includes keeping your pet protected from things like Leptospirosis, Influenza, Parvovirus, and Rabies with appropriate vaccinations. It also includes many other things such as heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention, and appropriate individualized plans for optimal nutrition, weight control, and home dental care. During your consultation with one of our doctors and our specially trained wellness consultants, we will work to craft a personalized plan to keep your pet as healthy as possible.

Secondly, we want early detection for anything we cannot prevent.

While you may be accustomed to getting a yearly heartworm test for your pet each year, this is just one of the tests available to screen your pet for issues that may be lurking just below the surface. These include blood chemistry tests to look at how your pet's liver, kidneys, and electrolytes are doing; a complete blood count that screens for anemia, infection, and proper clotting factors in the blood; urine testing to look for infection, kidney concentrating ability, and signs of other serious issues like bladder stones; and state-of-the-art ELISA and centrifugation fecal tests to look for many different kinds of intestinal parasites that may be picked up even by dogs and cats who spend much of their time indoors.

Lastly, we focus on early intervention to correct any problems that are found on the physical examination and early detection tests. These are crucial to keeping your pet free from pain and feeling their best.

Examples of common types of interventions include natural supplements to gently help correct imbalances in the liver or thyroid functioning, removing lumps and bumps before they grow too large and dangerous and state-of-the-ar dental cleaning assessment. In fact, good dental health is one of the most important things you can do to keep your pet healthy. Some experts even suggest that it may add up to 2 years to your pet's life! (Not to mention cutting down on all that bad breath and the pain of a sore, inflamed mouth!) Because we understand just how important this is, we now include full mouth oral x-rays with every dental cleaning, and it is not an exaggeration to say that this has revolutionized the quality of care we are able to provide to your pet. We routinely find teeth with dangerous and painful abscesses that have not yet shown any external signs. We have also invested in a top-of-the-line high-speed dental unit and our doctors have spent many hours doing extra education to learn advanced oral surgery skills that most veterinarians do not have so that when your pet has that infected tooth that must come out, we can remove it safely and effectively.
